What is Balanced Water?

Balanced water is water that is within acceptable ranges for pH, water hardness, alkalinity, temperature, and total dissolved solids.  pH, hardness, and alkalinity are the key drivers of balanced water, as each must set to ideal levels for the water to become balanced.

Water that is not balanced is considered to be unbalanced water.  Depending on the levels of pH, hardness, and alkalinity, the water can either become corrosive or scaling.  Corrosive water will damage pool equipment and surfaces.  Water that is scaling will leave deposits of scale on pool equipment and surfaces.

Maintaining balanced water in a swimming pool can decrease maintenance costs and provide a more enjoyable swimming experience.
